I first walked into a U Weight Loss Clinics™ in July of 2008, weighing 247 pounds. I was a young accountant who had just taken on a new job as Head of Finance for a national company in my hometown of Saskatoon. My job frequently required me to work hours in excess of a standard forty-hour work week, which left me exhausted at the end of each day and work week. I found myself in what seemed like an endless trap of waking up each morning tired and returning home exhausted and ready to sleep. This schedule left very little time for me to cater to my social and physical needs. I believe that my career goals were also put at a detriment due to my physical exhaustion.
Within weeks of beginning the program, I felt a renewed source of energy. I no longer required a nap after work and felt like taking part in social activities, such as rounds of golf, with my friends. As my weight dropped, my energy continued to increase, to the point where I was working less hours, and accomplishing more in a shorter period of time.
As a single, overweight male, I lacked the confidence to approach women that I may be interested in or vice-versa. I was petrified of rejection as my mind set was: "If I blow this opportunity, I do not know when the next opportunity may present itself." As I lost weight, and believed that my physical appearance was getting better, my confidence grew which translated to all aspects of my life. I soon gained the insight that the most attractive thing about an individual is confidence, and a person who is happy within their own skin, always looks attractive.
As a teenager I was very involved in sports, and truly enjoyed participating in all physical activities, especially hockey. As a result, I experienced the normal bumps and bruises, with the most severe being torn knee ligaments. When I was younger and in good shape my knee never bothered me after the normal recovery time. However, after gaining weight my knee constantly bothered me. I could not fully participate in my favorite sport of hockey, as in tournaments I could only participate in one game and my knee would be too sore to play the rest of the tournament. This winter, after losing about 45 pounds, I decided to participate in a hockey tournament where we were to play three games in two days. I am happy to say that I was now able to participate in all three games with no discomfort to speak of.
My new found confidence and energy has also paid dividends in my financial success. As a result of being able to do my job more efficiently and effectively, I have substantially increased my annual income, and enjoy my job more. For the first time in my working career, I can honestly say that I truly love my job.
I have now lost 61 pounds and feel better than I have in over a decade. I went from wearing a size 40 jeans to size 32. I now weight 186, which is the same as I weighed in high school. But above and beyond my physical transformation, my emotional transformation is far more impressive. I have gained the confidence that has enabled me to live a balanced and successful life in my career life, my social life, and my health. I know that the excellent staff at U Weight Loss™ have equipped me with the tools that will enable me to maintain my health for the rest of my life. I have U Weight Loss™ to thank for helping me take the steps towards becoming the man that I would like to be. Thank U!
